SentraCaptions puts live captions and translated text on the chamber display, on residents’ phones and on your livestream. Residents scan a QR code and read along in their own language, with nothing to install.
Residents who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who speak another language at home, can follow a public meeting only if they can read it as it happens. SentraCaptions captions and translates the meeting audio in about a second and puts the text where residents already look.
It works with the encoder you already have. Add SentraCaptions as a destination over RTMP or SRT from Pearl, OBS, vMix and others. There is no new hardware to buy.
Honest about accuracy. Captions are generated automatically and may contain errors. A local-names glossary, autocorrect rules and, when enabled, a few seconds of human review all improve accuracy. Captions support live captioning under WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.2.4. They do not by themselves make an agency’s website or apps meet the ADA Title II rule.
